About Us
WCHS provides essential services to those in need — from food and clothing to emergency assistance and case management.
Our History
Waynesboro Community & Human Services (WCHS) and its predecessor organizations have been serving the community for nearly 90 years. In 2011, two local agencies — the Waynesboro Welfare Association and the Waynesboro Area Human Services Council — merged to form WCHS. The Waynesboro Welfare Association was established in 1931, and the Human Services Council was founded in 1979 by the Fellowship of Churches. We’ve continued to grow ever since — all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
Waynesboro Community and Human Services connects a caring community with neighbors in need, offering coordinated support for basic human and health services. We believe everyone deserves essentials like food, clothing, and shelter — and we’re here to help when times get tough.
