WCHS and our predecessors have been serving our community for almost 90 years. In 2011 two local agencies, Waynesboro Welfare Association and Waynesboro Area Human Services Council, merged to form WCHS. The Waynesboro Welfare Association had formed in 1931 and Waynesboro Human Services Council was formed in 1979 by the Fellowship of Churches. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
Waynesboro Community and Human Services is a channel for a caring community to offer a helping hand to our neighbors in emergency need. We are a community resource for centralized and coordinated, advocacy and responses to basic human and health service needs. We envision a neighborhood where everyone has the basics: food, drink, clothing, a roof over their heads and in-home health care by a community nurse when needed. We lend a hand when a neighbor falls on hard times because sometimes we all need a little help.
